It’s a real photographer who thinks of the shot while blood is dripping from his nose in the sink, that’s what Steve Kay is.
I like how the red of the blood stands out so strong on the white that is the sink. The way most of the blood is pooled near the drain hole takes on a meaning of its own. We may think about blood being the lifeforce of the human and its movement towards to drain as symbolism for the loss of life. Of course it’s an unintended meaning as this was a completely opportunistic shot.
